Q: How long does this process take?
A: From start to finish, your project can be done between 10 to 14 days. Search engines and directories will begin adding links within a month. The number of links in those engines will increase monthly, as you stick with the program. Expect 10 to 15 links in the first month; 20 to 40 links at the end of the second month; 40+ after the end of the third month. You can expect to gain inclusion into 3 search engines per month.

Q: Do I have to resubmit my site?
A: Yes! In order to compete with others in your field, you should resubmit. The search engines are constantly updating and you should ensure they have your surrent information, even if it hasn’t changed. You should resubmit your site at least once per month, INDEFINATELY.

Q: What are the major search engines?
A: Alta Vista, Excite, IWON, Hot Bot, Netscape, NBCi, AOL, Open Directory Project, MSN, Fast/All the Web, Lycos, Google, Yahoo!, Direct Hit, Webcrawler, Goto.com, About.com, Looksmart, FindWhat.com.

Q: Are doorway pages good or bad?
A: Good… and bad. It depends on the site. Doorway pages allow you to focus on specific keyword phrases for specific search engines and directories without effecting your main web site’s optimization. Overkill on these pages can be detrimental though. You should be careful to alter the content of your doorway pages when submitting them to the same search engine or directory. Some search engines may consider multiple doorway pages, all focusing on the same term, as spamming and disallow your domain name on their lists. One way to ensure this does not happen to you is to purchase additional domain names for your doorway pages.

Q: Do cheap submission programs work?
A: No! Though, occasionally we see folks have some minor success with cheap submission programs. However, that success is usually short lived. The best way to ensure success in the search engines and directories is to enlist the services of a professional. It is our business to play watchdog for your web site. We know, through our experience, that there are no quick fixes.

Q: What is a Meta Tag?
A: There are many Meta tags that can be used in a wed site. The most common meta tags are the description tag and keywords tag. These are the areas where the source code can tell a search engine what the page is about and what keyword phrases should be considered when indexed. Meta tags do not effect the physical look of the web page.
